About Ceramics Classes London

Ceramics Classes London is a haven of tranquility and space for learning. Courses and taster classes are offered in hand building, sculpture, wheel throwing and decorating techniques. Studio membership is available for more experienced artists.

Established in 2019 and founded by Zoe Lloyd who holds a Masters in Ceramics from the Royal College of Art and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education from the Institute of Education.

The Arch is Located on Cambridge Grove in Hammersmith, West London. The Barn on Barnes High Street, South West London.

#Clay as a material offers healing qualities and awakens #creativity. Sensory stimuli transfers between the left and right brain and heightens our perception of #form, texture and spatial relationships.

We offer taster sessions, 4 or 8 weeks courses in throwing and hand building techniques.


Taster sessions are 1.5 hours long in this session you will be introduced to ceramic techniques. This is a one on one or group session for beginners. You will learn how to throw a pot on the pottery wheel or how to hand build with clay to make a small coil pot cup or sculptural form making one or two items which will be fired and glazed with a clear shiny glaze and ready to collect three weeks later.

Our 4 or 8 weeks courses are 2.5 hours long and are a great introduction to learning how to work with clay. Beginning with centring the clay and throwing a series of cylinder shapes on the pottery wheel. Continue to develop practicing your throwing techniques and refine your shapes using turning tools. In the final session you will learn how to apply a glaze to a selection of your work. Cost is Inclusive of all materials and firings.
